Setting and brightness
The Govee DreamView T1 Pro TV Backlight H605B packs a decent amount of high-end technology that comes together for an impressive light show once everything is set up: two vertical RGBIC light bars, a coil of four premium RGBIC LED strips, a 1080p camera, and a handy control panel for the back of your TV.
This setup is perfect for TVs from 55 to 65 inches, especially if your setup gives the stand-alone light bars on either side of your TV some extra space. While it takes some time to get this kit set up properly, it’s worth taking the time to lay the groundwork for this impressive light show.
I wasn’t ready for how bright these lights are at their default brightness setting of 100%, as they turn night into day right out of the box. Unlike the “pick-up and shine” portability of the Govee StarPal Light, the DreamView T1 Pro is a top choice for larger rooms and extra-large screens, as well as parties and holidays like Christmas and Halloween that take advantage of the charming flash. . effects and infinite color palette.
While the ability to turn your house into a blink, blink, blink circus is pretty fun, I turned the system’s brightness levels all the way down to 25% to test out some console gaming and movie streaming. This allowed the otherwise dazzling lights to be enhanced and not distracted from the on-screen entertainment.
A rainbow of immersive features
One of the coolest things about the Govee DreamView T1 Pro is how every part of the kit comes together perfectly like an orchestra of light to enhance your viewing experience. For example, I wanted to simulate a retro arcade theme while playing some old-school game classics, and after tinkering with the customization options to create my own unique color palette, the vibrant neon greens, yellows, and reds lighting up the room made a great job recreating that classic arcade glow.
The expertly designed Govee Home app (available on iPhone and Android) makes creating your own combination of light colors and patterns a walk in the park. Between the randomization option that sends a random color configuration to your light set, a huge library of pre-installed color choices, and an active community of Govee users sharing their own creations, you’ve got plenty of visuals and effects to play with.
1 from 3
Perhaps the most innovative and immersive feature of this set is the 1080p Colorsense camera that looks down on your TV screen like a high-tech gargoyle. This innovative device sets it apart from competing light sets because it actively synchronizes the colors and movement of the Govee lights with the on-screen action and sound coming from your speakers.
You’d be amazed at how immersive it is to see your favorite in-game worlds scattered around your room by sending the colors you see in the edges of the TV to the LEDs, and I’m pleased to say that it similarly it works smoothly with movies and TV shows.
As well as fine-tuning color schemes and boosting your creativity with bold lighting effects, the app can also be used to set your lights on a timer, activate the captivating music mode that shimmers alongside your tunes, and control Govee lights and accessories via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for easy voice control.

Near perfection is still fantastic
As captivating and attractive as the Govee DreamView T1 Pro TV backlight is, there are a few minor issues to look out for before you decide to take the plunge. As noted, setup takes some time, but careful installation and calibration of this lighting kit will be worth it for the result.
The biggest problem is attaching the 1080p Colorsense camera to the top of your TV. The camera has a large flat area to mount on the flat top of a TV, but my LG TV has a pointed bezel on the top, so I had to balance creatively rigged tape structures behind my screen to hold the camera securely in place and pointed to my screen.
Since designing a makeshift bracket for the camera is the worst thing about the DreamView T1 Pro, Govee absolutely nailed this lighting kit.
Light up your setup with Govee
If you’re hesitant to buy one for immersive movie watching or gaming, a Govee DreamView T1 Pro TV Backlight H605B set is easily one of the best of its kind on the market.
It’s perfect for mood lighting in your entertainment room, mood lighting for parties and holidays, or simply to add extra flair to your gaming setup. With an endless collection of color combinations and effects to boot, this vibrant lighting set is sure to impress for years to come.
