How to Deactivate or Delete a Facebook Account on iPhone

Do you want to deactivate or delete your Facebook account? You can do either directly on your iPhone’s Facebook app. We’ll show you how to do that and how to delete the Facebook app on your iPhone.

While deactivating is a temporary thing, deleting your Facebook account is permanent. In the latter case, you may want to download a copy of your Facebook data so that you have a backup of your content. You should also disconnect the apps associated with your Facebook account before deleting the account.

If you just deactivated your account, you can reactivate it later by logging into your account.

Deactivate or delete a Facebook account on iPhone

Launch the Facebook app on your iPhone to begin the account deactivation or deletion process.

In the bottom right corner of Facebook, tap “Menu” (three horizontal lines).

Select "Menu" in the lower right corner.

Slide the page “Menu” down, then tap Settings & privacy > Settings.

<p>On the ‘Settings and privacy’ page, in the ‘Account’ section, tap ‘Personal and account information’ .</p>

Tap “Account Ownership and Management.”

Select "Account Ownership and Control."

Choose the option “Deactivate and remove”†

Tap "Deactivate and delete."

To deactivate your account, select ‘Deactivate account’ and tap ‘Continue to deactivate account’.

To delete your account, select “Delete Account” and tap “Proceed to Delete Account.”

If you’ve chosen to delete your account, Facebook offers help with some of the common issues you may be experiencing with the platform. Tap an option to use the Help.

To proceed with deleting your account, tap the button “Continue to delete account”†

Select "Proceed to delete account" At the bottom.

Facebook will suggest the steps to follow before deleting your account. This includes backing up your data and so on.

Continue the process by clicking below “Remove Account” to click to tap.

Select "Delete account" At the bottom.

If prompted, enter your Facebook password and your account will be deleted.

After your account has been deleted, you probably don’t want to keep the Facebook app on your iPhone. In this case, uninstall the app to decrypt your home screen and free up your iPhone’s precious storage space.

To do this, find the Facebook app on your home screen. Tap and hold the app until all your app icons start to wiggle.

Tap and hold on the Facebook app.

Tap on “X” in the top left corner of the Facebook app icon.

Select "X" in the top left corner of Facebook.

Tap on “remove” at the prompt.

Select "remove" at the prompt.

And the Facebook app is now removed from your iPhone. Enjoy a life where you don’t look at your phone too often!
