Delete multiple emails in Microsoft Outlook

If you want to delete multiple emails at once, Microsoft Outlook allows you to selectively delete multiple emails at once. You can do this in the web, desktop, and mobile versions of Outlook. We’ll show you how.

In the Outlook desktop app, you have the option to delete all emails from an email folder at once. You can choose your emails sequentially, non-sequentially, or all at once.

To do this, first start Outlook on your computer. In the left sidebar of Outlook, select the folder where you want to delete emails.

In the right pane, you can see all the emails from the folder you selected. To delete all these emails in the list, first select all emails by pressing Ctrl+A (Windows) or Command+A (Mac). Then press the Delete key on your keyboard.

If your keyboard doesn’t offer the Delete key, right-click on one of the selected emails and choose “Delete” from the menu.

Tip: If you accidentally deleted your emails, you can recover them by quickly pressing Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Command+Z (Mac).

To delete your emails in the correct order, click on the first email in the list. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and select the last email in the list. All emails between the first and last email are now flagged.

To delete them, press the Delete button on your keyboard. You can also right-click on a selected email and click “Delete” in the menu.

To delete emails in non-consecutive order, click the first email you want to delete so that it is selected. Then hold down the Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) key and select additional emails to delete.

Finally, press the Delete key or right click on a selected email and choose “Delete” to delete your emails.

Outlook has moved all your deleted emails to the “Trash”. If you want to delete those emails forever, then open the “Trash” folder, select all your emails and press the Delete key. (For the keyboards that don’t offer a Delete key, right-click on a selected email and choose “Delete” from the menu.)

Delete multiple emails from Outlook on the web

Outlook on the web provides check boxes that allow you to select and delete multiple emails at once.

To use that, first launch your favorite web browser on your computer and open the Outlook site. In the left sidebar of Outlook, select the folder where you want to delete emails.

To delete all emails in your selected folder, first highlight all emails by pressing Ctrl+A (Windows) or Command+A (Mac). Then click on ‘Empty’ at the top of the email list [Folder Name]I

To delete your emails sequentially, click the sender icon next to the first email you want to delete. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, find the last email in sequence and click the sender icon next to it.

With your emails selected, click “Delete” at the top of Outlook.

Outlook has put all your deleted emails in the “Deleted Items” folder. You can delete this folder by opening it and choosing “Empty folder” at the top.

Outlook’s mobile app doesn’t have as many features as its desktop counterparts, but you do have the option to delete emails in bulk.

To use it, first open the Outlook app on your phone. In the app, select the folder from which you want to delete emails.

When you see your emails, tap and hold the first email you want to delete. Then tap other emails to mark them.

With your emails selected, tap the trash can icon at the top of your screen.

And all your selected emails are now moved to the “Deleted” folder. You can permanently delete your emails by opening this folder and choosing the trash can icon.

This keeps your Outlook organized and makes it easier to find important emails. Enjoy a neat and clean interface!
