With Prime Day in July, we expect tons of great deals on the iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 series. Those definitely score a discount or two at Amazon and other rival stores, and while we don’t have specific insights on the upcoming deals yet, we can guess what’s likely to be discounted and based on our past experience.
What were the best Prime Day iPhone deals from last year?
Last year we had some notable deals on iPhones, which weren’t that drastic, but still let you score a nice discount on some of the mo. You could get up to 25% off most older iPhones last year, while the iPhone 12 series got up to 10% off. Those are great savings any way you look at it, and we certainly expect those deals to apply to other iPhones as well, like the iPhone SE (2020) or the iPhone SE (2022). Even older iPhones, like the iPhone 8 or the XS series, can get a discount as part of Amazon Prime Day.

Until the upcoming deals event arrives, we have some great deals and discounts on the current and previous iPhone generations. For example, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are possibly the best phones you can get right now, and Amazon drops the price a bit on a regular basis, so it’s always worth checking out the respective phone’s Amazon page.

We expect a lot of older iPhone models to go on sale during the upcoming Amazon Prime Day, but the latest iPhone 13 series will probably be discounted a bit as well. Presumably, we could see between $50 and $100 being deducted from the iPhone 13 series, as was deducted from the iPhone 12 series last year.

The iPhone 13 will be a new bestseller that is likely to score a price cut at the upcoming Amazon Prime Day festival. We expect it to be discounted to $100, making this a potentially great buy for just about anyone.
Best iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max Prime Day Deals
The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are great alternatives to the newer iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. Sure, they’re missing high refresh rates and a few camera improvements, but they’re still worth it. Given historical trends, those two former flagships can get discounts of up to 30%, which only means one thing: watch out for these two during the deals festival.
We expect that the potential discounts on the older iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max could bode well for people looking to buy capable iPhones with three cameras, even if they don’t have Apple’s fastest mobile chipset or fast refresh screens. Such deals may as well be the hidden surprise.
Best iPhone 12 Prime Day Deals
It’s open season for the iPhone 12 series and all other older but still relevant iPhones. If you’re not necessarily looking for the very latest, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini could be a good match for many people. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are probably 95% similar to what you’d get from the newer iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, but they will definitely be cheaper in comparison.
The main difference between the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini is their size. The smaller phone comes with a smaller screen, size and battery, which should be fine for those wanting to carry around a smaller but still capable phone. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 seems like an excellent compromise between size and specs, with decent battery life and a big enough screen in a not-so-impressive footprint, all thanks to the revamped flat design that makes new iPhones feel more compact than they are.

We suspect that the iPhone 11 series will also be massively discounted during Amazon Prime Day, not only on Amazon but also at other retailers who are still selling these hugely popular iPhones as of 2019. Despite being nearly two and a half years old, the iPhone 11 series still largely resembles their successors: except for the new design and faster chipsets, the overall experience is largely similar, making an iPhone 11 Pro or an iPhone 11 Pro Max. can be an excellent choice for those who are not lured by the latest advanced technology.

And finally, let’s not forget that Apple announced a new iPhone SE (2022) earlier this year, and it will likely go on sale on Amazon Prime Day as well. Still, we expect the phone to be discounted, likely to $50.

They are certainly there, provided you opt for the latest generation. Unless otherwise stated, you will most likely receive an unactivated iPhone in a box. Meanwhile, if you buy an iPhone that’s a few generations old, you’re probably getting one of Amazon’s redesigned devices. Those are all pre-owned, and while not certified by Apple, they’ve been “inspected, tested, and cleaned.” There is a chance that a third-party seller and not necessarily Amazon will handle your purchase.

Should You Buy an iPhone on Amazon Prime Day?
Overall, there’s a pretty hefty amount of iPhones that can be discounted when Amazon’s deal extravaganza comes along. Presumably older devices like the iPhone 12/12 mini and iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max would make up the majority of deals, but we expect a slight price drop on newer phones like the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini and iPhoneSE (2022) .
Still, we believe the best deals are those that will include the wildly popular iPhone 12 series and likely refurbished iPhone 11, 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max units. While it doesn’t have a telephoto camera and has a slightly older chipset, the iPhone 12 is largely identical to the iPhone 13 in many ways, so it would be advisable to get one if it’s well discounted. Chances are the best deal on this Amazon Prime Day would be the iPhone 12 in one form or another.
If you’re looking for a more “Pro” choice, then all the offerings, including the iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max, or even the older iPhone 11 Pro/Pro Max, should be of interest to you. Despite the lack of the newer chipsets and the lack of smooth, fast-refreshing screens, the older Pro models are still capable and may be able to give you an excellent experience.
All in all, if you’re not one to hold your breath for the upcoming iPhone 14 series, there’s hardly going to be a better time to buy an existing iPhone model than the upcoming Amazon Prime Day.
